Not too far from Seattle is one of the premier trout and steelhead rivers in the northern hemisphere - the Deschutes River. Located in Central Oregon, it is one of the best places on earth for catching trout and steelhead on a fly. The best way to fish the Deschutes is in a drift boat. This allows you to get to the premier sections of the river.
The Deschutes is a 'high desert' river with crystal clear water and high canyon walls on both sides. Just spectacular! Lot's of great small streams close to Seattle make the Puget Sound a great spot for all kinds of fly fishing including some salt water spots! They say that days spent flyfishing aren't subtracted from our days on earth. We could all use more time on the water.
